Morgan County is in a hot new week, with temperatures reaching the 90s each day, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast.
The week will also start windy but dry, with the first light chance for showers and thunderstorms not appearing in the forecast until Thursday, according to NWS.
On Monday, the sun will shine in full force, bringing a maximum of about 98 degrees. There will be wind, probably winds of 5 to 11 miles per hour blowing all day with gusts of up to 17 mph.
During the night, the sky will be clear and the temperature will drop to about 62 degrees. The light southeast winds will remain in the air.
Tuesday will look a lot like Monday's when it's a few degrees lower. There will be sunny skies, maximum around 96 and light winds. But these breezes could resume in the afternoon, reaching 7 to 16 mph and gusts up to 23 mph.
Tonight will have a clear sky, a low around 62 degrees and windy conditions that will calm down during the night.
The sun will again be Wednesday, with almost no wind to provide relief from the heat, which should reach about 97 degrees again.
