Chelsea played a minor role in the Christian Pulisic transfer saga, but the kicker and Bild reports over the past two days not only raised the noise, but also drove the Blues down in the middle of the the fray. "Smack dab" is an American expression that means "exactly", which is what Pulisic is for our needs, and I will not hear it otherwise.

Ronan Murphy is reporting Bild news (such as Sky Germany ), which states that Borussia Dortmund and Pulisic have agreed not to agree and have canceled the contract negotiations. Bild also claims that Pulisic is "supposed to be the number one target for Chelsea".
The 19-year contract is as long as that of Eden Hazard in Chelsea, so an extension is imperative in both cases. But the BVBs seem to have admitted their defeat, unlike Chelsea in the case of Eden, and resigned themselves to letting Pulisic go. Even if it should always happen, it could even happen this summer, maximizing its transfer fees with just two years on its current contract.
The auction starts at 70 million euros. This seems a little weak considering current market conditions. Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Bayern have all been named favorites at one time or another, so no one is in the lead for nothing.

While everyone seems to be asking Pulisic to stay, and this may seem the most logical for his development, with basically every A team in England and Europe on his heels and a declared desire to play in the Premier League one day, it is also easy to see how his head could be turned. If it comes to Chelsea, it certainly will not be a good thing!
With BVB apparently fixing a (minimum) price, we could be in a massive bidding war. It's a good thing we saved our money this summer! But, as always, we will have to act quickly. The transfer window closes on August 9th.
