Claiming that the United States and their economic commitment benefit the Indo-Pacific region, Mr Hook said that the Trump administration believes that the US's economic engagement model is the healthiest for the country of the region.

The United States therefore encourages China to adhere to best practices and funding for infrastructure development, he said.
