KUALA LUMPUR: The board of directors of Versatile Creative Bhd 
a packaging company, discovered a possible fraud in the company involving unauthorized payments made to third parties.
The company announced today in Bursa Malaysia that it had appointed Crowe Malaysia to perform a forensic audit. The board had also suspended chief executive and its chief financial officer to facilitate the investigation.
"The appointment of Crowe Malaysia to conduct a forensic audit is to determine the extent of financial irregularities and the people responsible," he said.
The company said the financial irregularities involved unauthorized payments to third parties between August 2017 and June 2018.
Datuk Lee chairman Kwee Hiang filed a police report today.
To ensure the smooth running of its day-to-day operations, the company stated that Lee will assume the role of Interim Executive Director and that Andy Yap Jee Wye will be Acting Chief Financial Controller.
"Other announcements would be made at the end of the forensic audit," he added.
