The famous MotoGP rider Dani Pedrosa announced his retirement at the end of the season. This puts an end to the long career of the 32-year-old Spaniard, who announced his retirement just before the German Grand Prix. Dani Pedrosa is one of the most experienced riders in MotoGP and is known for his humility. Dani Pedrosa made his debut in 2006 and helped Honda win seven constructor titles. There has been speculation in the past that Dani Pedrosa would join a satellite team next year after leaving the Repsol Honda MotoGP team by the end of 2018. Dani Pedrosa won three world titles and has been 54 times on the podium. The 2018 season was not very good for Dani Pedrosa and he was injured during a race.
Repsol Honda and Dani Pedrosa broke up last month when the team recruited Jorge Lorenzo as Pedrosa's replacement. In the Queen class, Dani Pedrosa has won 31 podiums and 112 victories. In addition, he finished second in the MotoGP Championship on three occasions in 2007, 2010 and 2012. Unfortunately, the MotoGP sensation has failed to clinch a title victory in his entire career.
Dani Pedrosa was due to join Yamaha but the latest announcement ended all rumors. With another 11 races of the season, Dani Pedrosa would like to enjoy it before expecting a big goodbye. In regards to his retirement, Dani Pedrosa said that he thought about retirement for a long time and now he has different priorities in life. He says that despite his good opportunities to keep running, he did not feel that he had the same intensity for the race as before. Dani Pedrosa announced his retirement by saying – "I realized my dream of becoming a runner." Yes indeed!
