Huawei has patented a smartwatch design that can hold a pair of built-in Bluetooth headphones, which has never been explored before in the world smartwatches.
Speculation indicates that this design will be implemented for the Huawei Watch 3, but the lack of sufficient detail, including a release date, makes the possibility unlikely. That said, it seems that the company is currently exploring ways to reinvent the typical smartwatch design by including storage for wireless headphones.
How Huawei plans to store earphones in a smart watch
Such a way is through a capsule with a spring mechanism that opens and closes with a wink, or magnetically attached to the watch band itself. The wireless earpieces would have water resistance capabilities, and they will also be active noise canceling.
In any case, the World Intellectual Property Organization approved Huawei's patent on June 28 and LetsGoDigital was the first to learn about it. It's a pretty cool idea, especially since people probably want to keep their wireless headphones where they are easy to find.

Just note that a patent is not an infallible indication that a company is planning to develop everything that is shown. It's a clever solution, of course, but it's unclear whether Huawei actually plans to do it, or if it's just a legal basic job in case another company tries to copy its ideas.
Patents are often preemptive. So, do not hold your breath as this design will be the eagerly awaited Huawei Watch 3. Keep in mind that Huawei also patented a game smartwatch in May, and that has also been approved. It can be inferred that the company is considering several possibilities for its next smartwatch
The best thing to draw from this news is perhaps that Huawei is still trying to explore smartwatches, unlike most other companies that have largely abandoned on developing them. A number of factors have led to a general lack of interest for smartwatches recently, including their relatively less expensive cost and specifications compared to smartphones.
Owning a smartwatch these days can be cool and practical, but is it really a must? Most people do not think so. But a smart watch that can store a couple of wireless headphones? This could certainly be a unique selling point.
