Rathiga Yanamsekaran and Nalini Subramaniam, who came all the way from Gemas, Negri Sembilan were more than happy to Brickfields to do their shopping.
The colleagues were eyeing Punjabi suits, shawls and accessories for their festive preparation.
Deepavali cookies are one of the most sought-after items in Brickfields.
"You can definitely find cheaper bargains here and I'm hoping to find a Punjabi suit for myself as it goes with my family's theme this year," Nalini said.
Rathiga also said that palkova and ladoo were some of the sweets they would buy instead of preparing them at home.
She said these sweets were difficult to make and preferred in Brickfields.

Thogaimalar Selvarajan from Muar Said Jalan Tun Sambathan was never really a place for her to shop for Deepavali.

"I prefer Klang's Little India because it is so much cheaper there.
"However, I decided to follow I bought.
