That Egypt is synonymous with squash is obvious. And the world juniors squash championships here, as planned, it's turned out to be an exhibition of the supremacy of the North African country.
The semi-finals of the Sunday boys worlds at Express Avenue Mall will be an Egyptian affair. In the girls category, Lucy Termel from England made her debut in the semifinal.
If you have to choose a contest for its intensity, it must be the one between Jana Shiha and the Farida Mohamed, both from Egypt. the girls' quarterfinals on Saturday. It was Shiha who emerged triumphantly 7-11, 11-6, 11-5, 7-11, 15-13 in 51 minutes.

The way Shiha pushed Farida in the third match, it seemed like the 16-year-old would pocket the fourth and the match in a jiffy. But Farida defended herself and won the match against the decisive.
Freeing winners and drop-shots from all corners, Shiha managed a comfortable 9-5 lead and three match points to 10-7, only to see Farida return. Shiha, however, finished the competition on his fifth point while keeping one on the way.
The Egyptian Mostafa Asal, seeded number two, proved that he was one of the best in the industry when he defeated Leonel Cardenas of Mexico 12-10, 11-7, 11-9
Whenever he was lagging behind – whether 8-10 in the first game or 7-9 in the third – he raised his game with incredible recoveries and the trickery. It is no wonder that the squash fraternity is talking about this 17 year old girl
