SEPANG: This 23-year-old Libyan man, the main suspect in the crime of Cyberjaya, has been in custody for five days.

It is reported that the suspect was re-detained again, as the police opened an investigation for murder under article 302 of the Penal Code.

The suspect's friends – two men from Libya and Yemen – were also held in custody for the same period.

Abdul Aziz Ali, a member of the OCPD in Sepang, confirmed that the suspects had been placed in pre-trial detention to facilitate investigations.

"We are thoroughly investigating the case," he said in his appeal.

The three men were arrested around midnight on Thursday, October 18th at Pusat Bandar Putra Permai in Seri Kembangan and at the Verdi Residence in Cyberjaya, at the same time as a Sabahan woman, linked to the murder incident that killed Wan Amirah Wan Alan.

All four are students from an international university in Cyberjaya.

The case was originally classified in section 41 (1) of the Road Transportation Act 1987 for causing death by careless or dangerous driving.

They were first sent back to Monday. The pretrial detention of the three men was extended for one day, while the woman was released.

On Wednesday, October 17, Wan Amirah was hit by a car and dragged into Shaftsbury Square Street as she was crossing the street at 7:35 pm.

Wan Amirah had just turned 31 on October 4, two weeks before his death.

Wan Amirah, deputy director at Unifi, died at Putrajaya Hospital on Thursday, October 5 at 5am.
