KUCHING: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Must Take a More Proactive Approach to Managing Corruption and Other Cases of Corruption
Sarawak MACC Director Razim Mohd Noor said that the task of MACC officers at the present time is more oriented towards the investigation of corruption cases involving small sums of money based on complaints and reports received.
Therefore, he said that it was necessary to deal with high-profile cases involving millions of ringgits.
"As MACC agents, we must commit ourselves to more than 100% .For me, what is important for us, is to improve the capacity of our capital If necessary, we will give them training, organize courses and others so that they are familiar with the new dimension of the survey. "
He said it at the MACC Partners 2018 Strategic Event at Sarawak MACC Complex here yesterday.
Earlier, Razim, who began his service in Sarawak in February this year, said he was determined to continue the good work done by Sarawak MACC
He added that all the investigation and investigation activities would continue and be examined. The MACC headquarters in Kuala Lumpur to follow the current situation
Razim also stated that some activities involving high operating costs could be reviewed es.
"We recognize activities like GERAH (Friends of the Anti-Corruption Revolution Movement) as a good activity
" However, we need to make some adjustments. We had previously Sahabat SPRM, where we had provided a membership card, but that involved high costs and would probably be reviewed.
"Sahabat SPRM was created to be our eyes and ears, but to save costs, we can change the use of the physical membership card to the electronic card method only."
Asked if MACC would increase its staff in the state, Razim said that there was no need for more staff in Sarawak currently
"The existing workforce is sufficient but if necessary, the demand for more staff to help other states will be made as a temporary measure, "he added.
