MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 JUVENTUS
4: Marcus Rashford stretches his legs for the first time this evening down the right touchline and draws Pjanic into a needless foul.
How’s your delivery Juan Mata? We’re having to wait to find out because somebody from the crowd has decided to run onto the field.
Here comes the free-kick… easily gathered by Szczesny. Not really worth the wait.
2: Well the first major blow of the evening is having Martin Keown in the commentary box. Don’t worry, I’ll get over it. The Red Devils will need a better start than they’ve made recently because Juventus are quick-starters.
MANCHESTER UNITED 0-0 JUVENTUS
1: And we’re underway! This really could be a historic night at Old Trafford – fingers crossed it delivers. Standby for utter mayhem!

Here they come!
19:58: Are you ready for this? The noise is pretty intense as the players emerge from the tunnel at Old Trafford. Rio Ferdinand and Owen Hargreaves have been discussing the atmosphere all night – and they have been proved correct.
Stop Ronaldo…
19:55: Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho tells BT Sport: “We played very well against Chelsea and had no new injuries in the starting line-up. We do not have many other options, lots of players came injured form international duty and they way we played was positive and this is how we want to play today.
“I do not think we can stop Cristiano Ronaldo individually, his movement is huge and would be very difficult to do. We have to do it collectively and if we have the ball and can be offensive, and can scare them, they will have less chances for Cristiano to play.
“We know that if Cristiano has two touches on the ball, he can score a hat-trick.”

Lee: Not looked forward to a Champions League group game as much as this for years. Proper European tie. Come on Reds!!!
David: Ashley Young will have a real test tonight. He may need an oxygen mask at the end. How I wish Antonio Valencia played there…
Athul: Need a strong performance from the lads, Hope we perform the same way Like we did in the second half at the Bridge. More of the same please. Come on United. Let’s do it!
European experience
19:35: The Bianconeri have lifted the European Cup on two occasions, but those triumphs in 1985 and 1996 have been followed by frustration.
Juventus have lost a record seven finals in the competition, including their last five attempts at getting over the last hurdle.
Allegri’s side were most recently frustrated in 2017 as Cardiff bore witness to a 4-1 loss to Real Madrid – the same side that knocked them out at the quarter-final stage last term.
Barcelona were the scourge of Juve in 2015 as they failed to add to their continental crowns, which also include three UEFA Cups, the 1984 Cup Winners’ Cup and a pair of UEFA Super Cups.

The snub
19:27: Leonardo Bonucci just couldn’t help himself, could he?
The Italian machine (yes that’s my own description) revealed he turned down a move to Manchester United to return to Juventus.
Bonucci, 31, returned to Turin in the summer after spending just one season at Milan following a £35.1million move in 2017 despite an approach from United.
“Yes,” Bonucci told the Telegraph, when asked if he received an offer from Manchester United at the end of last season.
“Basically there have been some possibilities both with Manchester City and with Manchester United. With Manchester City when I received that offer (in 2016) I actually talked to the club, I talked to Juventus and we decided that it was good for me to stay and to keep on winning with Juventus.”
Walked up – Jose
19:23: Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho: “We changed hotel and it is just around the corner. The players were on the bus for 45 minutes and I walked with a hoodie in the middle of the fans and nobody recognised me.
“It took two minutes. But Juventus had the same kind of problem. We don’t want to be punished again.”
Grid-lock…
19:20: Updates from our reporter Richard Tanner, at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff have walked to Old Trafford for tonight’s Champions League game against Juventus after Manchester Untied’s team coach was caught up in traffic again.
United were fined by UEFA after the kick off had to be delayed for five minutes after arriving late for their last Champions League game against Valencia when it took them 75 minutes for their bus to make the four-mile journey from the Lowry Hotel in the city centre to the stadium.
Mourinho decided to switch the team’s pre-match base for this game to the Hilton Garden Hotel at the Old Trafford cricket ground just around the corner from the football stadium.
But the coach was still caught in traffic grid-lock in the streets between the two grounds and a frustrated Mourinho and his staff decided to get off the bus and walk the final half a mile to the stadium, leaving the players aboard.
The coach eventually arrived at 7.10pm meaning Untied look set for another fine from UEFA because they are supposed to arrive a minimum of one hour before kick off.

They’ve arrived…
19:15: No need to send out the search party, folks. Manchester United’s team bus has finally arrived at Old Trafford. The boys step off the bus looking a little bit aggravated – but who wouldn’t? I can barely stand waiting for people to walk over a Zebra crossing.

Badger: Anthony Martial could cause pure havoc tonight. He’ll have those defenders’ legs all over the shop like baby giraffes, the kids got ridiculous talent!
Holder: Dropping Fred will cost Manchester United heavily, pretty sure Marouane Fellaini coming on during the second half, but it could be too late. Brace yourselves, typical Jose Mourinho rubbish.
Andrew: Manchester United don’t have much impact on the bench. If Juventus take the lead tonight, United will find it hard to adjust and react.
“I walked in a hoodie, in the middle of the fans, no one recognised me. I took two minutes.”

Team news
19:10: Well, having gone 45 games without naming an unchanged line-up… Jose Mourinho has named an unchanged Manchester United side for the first time since last December.
Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial lead the line, while Paul Pogba faces his former club and Ashley Young wears the captain’s armband.
Tahith Chong, 18, was named on the bench by United in a competitive game for the first time.
Juventus make two change from the weekend’s 1-1 draw against Genoa. Mario Mandzukic and Medhi Benatia make way for Paulo Dybala and Giorgio Chiellini.
Oh, and Leonardo Bonucci starts. I’ll explain why I’ve highlighted that in just a moment. I need to microwave my Lasagne you see…
Sneaky Jose…
19:05: Surely Jose Mourinho needs to apply for a role at MI5, because he somehow managed to walk from the team bus and arrive at Old Trafford unnoticed!
The Portuguese says that he put his hoodie on and walked through the streets and past supporters without detection. Might I suggest glasses for a few of these fans…

The opposition
19:00: How are Juventus faring in Italy? Very well indeed. Sorry United fans.
Juventus are top of Group H and Serie A after a record-breaking start to the campaign. Allegri’s side won their first 10 matches in all competitions to beat the previous best of eight set in 1930, putting them in the box seat for an eighth successive league crown.
But there’s slight hope. That run came to an end with Saturday’s 1-1 home draw against Genoa, Juventus remain four points clear of their nearest rivals. Allegri’s side have yet to so much as concede in Group H, with the 2-0 triumph at Valencia followed by a 3-0 thrashing of Young Boys.
Not again…
18:55: You may remember that Manchester United arrived late to Old Trafford for the Valencia match because of dodgy traffic. Well, it’s happened again!
However, not all of the squad are late…
And that’s because Jose Mourinho decided to walk the last half mile through the crowds of supporters! Now that’s from a Hollywood script, right?

Ronaldo reunion
18:40: Having served his ban in the previous round of games, Cristiano Ronaldo is available to enjoy an emotional return to Old Trafford as Juventus visit Manchester United.
Ronaldo was a hero in the red half of Manchester and helped them win the competition 10 years ago, while he is also coming up against his former boss Jose Mourinho, who managed him at Real Madrid.
Mourinho will be desperate to win for his own sake as the spotlight remains firmly on him, especially after the ugly scenes at Stamford Bridge on Saturday when he became involved in a touchline fracas following Chelsea’s late equaliser. This double-header is likely to decide who will win the group, so it is an important game.

Rob: Arrived at Old Trafford. Will definitely applaud Ronnie, he’s a United legend and we do this for all our former talents. But after that, we will be cheering every time one of our defenders tackles him hard. Thats if they can get near him. Up the flippin’ Reds. Come on lads!
Garry: Yeah it feels good to see you home, Cristiano. But I’ll feel even better when I see you in Ashley Young’s pockets.
Jason: Massive game tonight. Cant wait for the atmosphere, Cristiano Ronaldo back at the theatre of dreams, performance like Saturday will do!
I suspect you’ll be waiting a while to see that, Garry…
