MIRI: The MP for Miri, Dr. Michael Teo Yu Keng, called for the temporary shutdown of the RM3.36 million wireless Walk Walk upgrade project, evoking problems of Hygiene and Road Congestion

. had received many complaints and suggestions about ongoing work along Yu Yu Seng Road in the heart of the city.

"The project has not been requested by the public and this could worsen traffic conditions along the Wireless Walk."

Teo said that businesses and the public were worried about 66 waterfalls and 12 washrooms will be overcrowded and unrealistic because each stall would be too small to allow the realization of a viable business.

In addition, he said, the issues of waste management and sanitation need to be addressed. the assessment of the impact on traffic and the environment must be carried out in such a way as to avoid any negative repercussions on the public and on the city's image.

The Walk Walk Rehabilitation Project began on February 9, 2018 and is expected to be completed in October this year.

It can accommodate 66 boxes and five food trucks, as well as WiFi facilities and 12 public toilets for women and men.
