KUALA LUMPUR: Nawawi Ahmad has announced that he will resign from the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) presidency at the end of the month.
The former deputy of Langkawi announced that he was resigning to make way for the appointment of a new president by the Pakatan Harapan government. 19659004] He said that his appointment was in keeping with the political policy of the previous government led by Najib Razak.
"Let me make way for the government under Dr. Mahathir (Mohamad) to name someone who can run KTMB" at KTMB Hari Raya's celebrations here today.
He said that his term was to end in February 2020 after his service was extended for six years from February 2014.
