The facelifted Nissan Teana has just been introduced in Thailand, after the third-generation D-segment sedan was originally launched in the Land of Smiles. It may have arrived to the ASEAN region, the United States – but hey, you know what they say, better late than never.
With the update, the Teana is now part of the Altima, incorporating the company's standard V-motion grid and boomerang-shaped LED headlights and daytime running lights. However, the rear end remains identical to the outgoing model, doing away with the Altima 's wider tail lights and redesigned bumper. The high-spec alloy wheels now measures 18 inches in diameter and comes in a new two-tone design.
The interior remains untouched, but Nissan has seen fit to equip the Teana with the base 2.0XE model. Also untouched are the engines – a 2.0 liter MR20DE naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol making 136 PS at 5,600 rpm and 190 Nm at 4,400 rpm, plus a 2.5 liter QR25DE four-pot producing 173 PS at 6,000 rpm and 234 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Both are paired to an Xtronic CVT, as before.
Safety-wise, the Teana gets the attention of a blind spot and a 360-degree Detection on the 2.0XL, 2.0XL Navi and 2.5XV Navi, joining the standard six airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist and stability control.
Pricing starts at 1.336,000 baht (RM169,200) for the 2.0XE, rising up to 1,426,000 baht (RM180,600) for the 2.0XL, 1,476,000 baht (RM186,900) for the 2.0XL Navi with a seven-inch touchscreen navigation system . The 2.5XV Navi tops out was 1,674,000 baht (RM212,000).
