GEORGE TOWN: Penang police discovered a drug treatment laboratory and seized 5,350,000 RMh of drugs. Seven people, including three women, were arrested following raids on Thursday morning.

"During the raid, the police arrested four people after discovering a drug treatment laboratory operating from the house that the union had been renting for two months.

"Subsequently, an apartment in Queensbay's commercial district was searched and two people were arrested.

"Finally, the police raided another Sungai Dua apartment and arrested another union member," he told reporters today.

Thaiveegan said that during the seizure of 12 bullets, the police believed that the union had used firearms during its drug trafficking activities.

He added that suspects aged 26 to 58 would move frequently to avoid being detected, adding that the processed drugs were being marketed in the northern states.

The seven people were fired until November 7. The investigation is ongoing under Section 39B of the 1952 Hazardous Drugs Act.
