After the first appearance of the Porsche Cayenne Coupé almost two years ago, the smooth-roofed Porsche SUV was spotted in public once again, appearing here much more resolute than what appeared to be a stilt Panamera.
. ] The front of the test vehicle here seems to be about the same as that of the standard Cayenne body, and the similarities continue through the A uprights. The coupe distinctions begin in the middle of the door. Entrance, where the top of the window frame seems to sport a slightly more pronounced fold. As with the standard Cayenne, the Cayenne coupe is built on the VW Group's MLB Evo platform that underpins the likes of the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. The images from the inside have not yet surfaced, but we can expect them to be very similar, if not identical to those of standard Cayenne.
The architecture of the dashboard should follow, with a central tachometer flanked by a seven-inch screen on each side, and a central 12.0-inch infotainment display. Naturally, the new sloped roofline dictates that the capacity of the rear occupant head and luggage compartment will be reduced from the standard Cayenne.
Scheduled to debut this year, the Porsche Cayenne coupe could make its appearance at the Paris Motor Show. Powertrain options could include twin-turbo V6 and V8 engines, perhaps even the 680 hp / 850 Nm pluggable hybrid transmission of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.
