PETALING JAYA: Pos Malaysia Bhd clarified that he had requested prior permission from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and the photographers behind the images used in the commemorative stamps issued in conjunction with the 93rd Dr. Mahathir Mohamad's birthday today
A spokesperson told FMT this in response to a tweet by Mahathir Marina's daughter after news about the stamps.

Other Twitter users then asked if Pos Malaysia had asked permission to use the images, citing rights concerns. author, while others asked him if he was in favor of Mahathir, who is also chairman of Pakatan Harapan.

"We also credited the photographers at the press conference on stamps," he added.
According to Bernama, a total of 100,000 stamps of various designs were printed, each set being sold for RM93.
Mahathir, who led the country for 22 years until 2003, assumed the first ministerial post again after PH's victory in the general election in May.
Pos Malaysia has indicated that special edition stamps would be available as of today at the 14 general post offices in the country and at selected post offices, as well as on line on eziemall.com
