PETALING JAYA: myPPP has urged its former president, M Kayveas to publicly reveal who in the party had received funds totalling RM36 million linked to 1MDB.

Kayveas yesterday claimed he had given the names of six people in the party who had collected the cash to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers.

“There are two figures, RM16 million and RM20 million, that they collected in myPPP’s name, after they so-called sacked me.

“This money, which they allegedly collected from Barisan Nasional, never came into myPPP’s accounts,” he had told The Star yesterday.

But myPPP senior vice-president Loga Bala Mohan said the party welcomed the investigation by the anti-graft body but wanted the details of transactions to be disclosed.

“We believe this could be a desperate attempt to divert attention from him being investigated by MACC.

“We in the myPPP Central Executive Committee have not seen, heard (of) or received this money.

“This begs the question as to how much Kayveas actually received all these years to arrive at this figure of RM36 million.”

He said if such funds were received by the party, as claimed by Kayveas, then the members have the right to know where these funds were diverted to and what it was eventually utilised for.

He hoped the authorities will thoroughly investigate the source of this RM36 million to verify Kayveas’ claims.
