SHAH ALAM: The government will repeal the laws that are oppressive, especially the Security Crimes (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA).

Tun Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir Mohamad said that SOSMA, which was introduced during the administration of the 39; former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, allowed the government to arrest anyone without having to go to court.

"Najib's law allows a person to be arrested and not to to be brought to justice, and if no one dies, there will be no investigation or action taken against those who killed him. This is the law passed by Najib and we will repeal this law. "Dr. Mahathir said this at the Tabung Harapan fundraising dinner of the Coalition of Chinese Klang Associations (CKCA) last night.

Dr. Mahathir said the Pakatan Harapan-led government would respect the rule of law by enforcing laws which would protect the population

"People will be protected by fair laws so that if they commit an offense, they will be tried by the court … the court will determine whether the person is guilty or not", The Prime Minister also thanked all the Malays who had entrusted Pakatan Harapan with the mandate to improve the situation in the country left by the Kleptocratic government of ajib.
