The failure of Culling 2 should warn developers of the royal scam
About a week ago, Xaviant video game developer launched the sequel to one of the games who launched The Culling. was supposed to ride the ante with improvements on the original. To say that he failed would be a huge euphemism.
Since the week following its launch, developers have not only withdrawn from online markets, but offer refunds to anyone who bought it. As if that was not enough, they actually decided to restore the first game in the series to its first access form and develop it as a free title. This is the first time I've heard of a sequel that has failed so horribly that it has dropped its predecessor with it.
Things, of course, were rather unpleasant. On Steam, out of 160 reviews, 127 are considered "very negative". Here are some fun:
But perhaps the most brutal aspect of all this is that, unlike previous flops in the video game world, we can take Xaviant's social media look and look at the # 39: tragic story of The Culling 2's incredibly fast journey, from announcement to annihilation, for a few weeks.

Xaviant's operations manager , Josh Van Veld, released a video about the problem:
At the beginning of the nearly six-minute video, Van Veld makes the following statement:
One thing that has become very clear to us is that The Culling 2 is not a game you've asked for, and it's not a game. We would expect to what he succeeds to The Culling.
He goes on to say that the company is Valve, Sony and Microsoft. to have it removed from the shelves and explains the company's plans to return to the drawing board on the first game in the series.
There are many reasons not to like The Culling 2 if you are a fan of the original, unless according to the overwhelming majority of critics. But at least Xaviant did the right thing after publishing a colossal flop that nobody asked: pay the buyer money back and apologize for the inconvenience.
Maybe the lesson here is that the glaring money gains are not the heart of the player, imagine that. Anyway, we do not expect to see The Culling 3 anytime soon.
