PETALING JAYA: The Minister of Education, Dr. Maszlee Malik, has never given direction, written or oral, forcing schools, especially in Kelantan, to donate to the Tabung Fund Harapan Malaysia
"It was an initiative of the Kelantan Education Department to involve all schools in the state in the fundraising campaign," the ministry said. in a statement Friday, July 6th.

The ministry was responding to viral allegations on social media, saying that Dr. Maszlee had asked schools to play their role for the fund.
