AMRITSAR: While seeking United Nations intervention to ensure the safety of Sikhs and Hindus living in Afghanistan, the chairman of the famous Sikh seminary, Damdami Taksal Harnam Singh Dhumma, lamented that even the Indian government does not grant citizenship to any Afghan or Hindu living in India. for almost two decades now.

At the same time, he said, it was worrying that the Indian government had not given citizenship to any of the Sikhs or Afghan Hindus.

In Delhi, Sikh leaders, including Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Chairperson (GPCP) Gobind Singh Longowal, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee Chairman (DSGMC) Manjit Singh GK, Akali Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa MPs and Prem Singh Chandumajra, organized a demonstration. in front of the Embassy of Afghanistan and handed a memorandum to the diplomatic officials.

Later, GK said that Afghanistan's ambassador to India, Shaida Mohammad Abdali, assured them to convey their feelings to his government.
