A whistleblower promises to bring to justice the perpetrators of 1MDB-related offenses

Kuala Lumpur: The Swiss whistleblower and former head of PetroSaudi International Ltd., Xavier Andre Justo, said he would not stop fighting to bring to justice the criminals involved in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal (1MDB).
He said that the struggle he was facing before had a human and financial cost, but that it would not stop until the criminals were punished. "I have suffered, my family has suffered tremendously during my incarceration and even today, I can not open a bank account under my name," Justo said at the 2018 Anti-Corruption Summit organized on Tuesday .
On June 22, 2015, Justo was arrested at his home on the island of Koh Samui after PetroSaudi officials filed a complaint for attempting to blackmail the company against 2.5 million Swiss francs ($ 11 million). rands) with documents stolen from the company.
However, in December 2016, Justo was among thousands of foreign prisoners to whom the King of Thailand, King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, granted a royal pardon.
Justo, however, declared beyond all the difficulties that he had to undergo, this experience brought him a sum of love and a proof of affection.
"The incredible support of my loved ones, meetings with strangers and people who have shown incredible dedication, the best part is the welcome I received in Malaysia.
"The pride of being able to explain one day to my son who is his father and what he really did is a future reward that I can not wait to discover.This experience has a high price to pay, but I believe it and I'm sure it was worth it, "he said.
He also stated that he would risk his life to denounce the scandal again.
"If I had to do it again, I would do it again, except that I would protect my family from these problems … your loved ones should not have to suffer for your actions, no matter what they are," he said. .
On the theme of "Good governance and integrity for sustainable business growth", this one-day event was organized by Transparency International Malaysia (TI-M).
