We finally have a release date for Dota 2 Patch 7.20

After months of speculation and vague hints as to when the major post-International 2018 patch will be released, we finally have confirmation from Valve.

In a blog post released Nov. 5 on the Dota 2 website, Valve congratulated Tigers on winning DreamLeague Season 10. And in the last line of the post the developer hinted at the patch release date.

Valve dropped the bomb fans have been waiting months for, that the long-awaited 7.20 patch would release Nov. 19—one day after the Kuala Lumpur Major concludes.

The Kuala Lumpur Major, the first of the 2018-19 Dota Pro Circuit season, is happening from Nov. 9 to 18. It will see 16 teams fighting for a prize pool of $1 million dollars and 15,000 DPC Points. Those points decide which teams will receive invites to the Invitational 2019, so teams that win Majors typically have a pretty good shot at getting in.

This release date of the patch is perfect, as it gives teams plenty of time to practice using the new changes before the next DPC event—The Bucharest Minor—on Jan. 9. The meta will likely see an overhaul, which means matches will include a lot of experimentation until the players figure what works.
