KUALA LUMPUR: The police have no objection to form defense minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein 's offer to track down fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, who is also known as Jho Low.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said police have no problem if the training Umno vice president could secure the return of Jho Low and his father.
"I can not comment on Hishammuddin's motive but he can bring back Low, we welcome his move.
"On our part, we are still doing our part, and we are still doing so," he told reporters after attending the police monthly assembly at Bukit Aman today.
Hishammuddin, who was also appointed to the position of President of the United States, is one of the most prominent scandals in the world, if the latter is in China.
Hishammuddin said it was only appropriate for Jho Low to come back and clear his name.
Meanwhile, on another matter, Mohamad Fuzi insisted that he would be forced to become a trained Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the first Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak, must first show proof of ownership.
"Those who claim that they are in the business of being informed," "They are not there, and they are in need of investigation, we will do that. those who claimed that they owned the jewelery, including the Lebanese company.We will not only investigate Rosmah.
"Apart from giving proof, they also need to cooperate with their statements," he added.
The Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceedings of the Unlawful Activities Act 2001, police are allowed to confiscate the items for a year for investigation.
Mohamad Fuzi was commenting on the Oct 11 High Court order for the government to confirm the 44 pieces of jewelery worth US $ 14.79 million (about RM60 million) loaned by a Lebanese jeweller to Rosmah were part of what the police seized.
In July, Beirut-based Global Royalty Trading filed a RM60mil following against Rosmah over the 44 pieces of jewelery allegedly smashed by the police.
The firm, in its statement of claim, said the first teacher had received a letter in May 22 that she received the items.
Global Royalty said it had on Feb 10 this year, feels the 44 pieces of jewelery, which included diamond necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets and a tiara.
The company requested that Rosmah, in a letter dated May 22, acknowledging these items.
