Woman robbed by 7 men on SILK Highway in Kajang

KAJANG: A woman was robbed by a group of seven men on the SILK Highway heading towards Kajang near Sungai Ramal Luar here on Nov 7, said police.

Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yusoff said police received a report on the incident at 11.09pm that night.

“Initial investigations showed that the car belonging to the 30-year-old victim was hit from behind by a man riding a motorcycle.

“The victim pulled over to inspect the damage on her car as well as to check whether the man was okay.

“At the same time, two men on another motorcycle approached the victim’s car on the pretense of offering help. However, one of them snatched the woman’s gold necklace before fleeing,” he said in a statement here today.

Ahmad Dzaffir said subsequently, four men on two motorcycles approached the victim’s car and opened the front passenger door.

“The suspects took the victim’s valuables before fleeing towards Semenyih. Investigations also showed that the all the suspects are locals.

“The group’s modus operandi is still under investigation,” he said, adding that the victim did not suffer any injuries.

He said the case, which has gone viral on social media, has sparked worry among members of the public.

“The police take every crime seriously and this case is under investigation. We are actively looking for the suspects.”
