Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, Nokia 7.1, Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Top phones likely to launch in India in November

[ad_1]

October was a busy month for the smartphone companies. It started with Google launching the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL. Soon after Google announced its third generation pure Android Pixel phones, OnePlus took the wraps off its first phone with in-display fingerprint sensor and that was the OnePlus 6T. In addition to the Pixel 3, the Pixel 3 XL and the OnePlus 6T, the other stars of the month of October were the Honor 8X and HMD Global’s Nokia 3.1 Plus. Apple’s budget iPhone XR also went on sale in India and is now available.

Looks like November may turn out to be a busy month as well. Smartphone makers like Xiaomi, Nokia, Vivo, Huawei, and Samsung are set to launch their next phones in India. The most anticipated of all is the Redmi Note 6 Pro that Xiaomi just launched in China and Thailand. Rumours suggest Xiaomi could price the Redmi Note 6 Pro under Rs 20,000. Giving a tough competition to the Xiaomi phone, Vivo is now gearing up to launch an under Rs 15,000 phone called the Y95 in the country. The Vivo is yet to official reveal the launch details about the Y95, but we at the India Today Tech can confirm that the smartphone will be launching by the end of November, possibly after Xiaomi launches its Redmi Note 5 Pro successor. Huawei is also looking towards launching the Mate 20 Pro in India this month, and this is something that the company has already confirmed.

So, a number of phones are coming soon. Though, the following ones are worth noting.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro

Xiaomi has already launched the Redmi Note 6 Pro in Thailand and in China. Now that the smartphone is already official in its home market, we expect Xiaomi to bring the Redmi Note 6 Pro in India very soon. Although the company is yet to reveal the India launch details of the Redmi phone, rumours suggest that the Redmi Note 6 Pro may come to India before November 20. Some rumours also hint that the Redmi Note 6 Pro could be priced somewhere close to the Redmi Note 5 Pro which currently sells for Rs 14,999 in India.

Apart from the India launch dates and the price, we already know everything about the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a number of upgrades compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The major upgrade, however, is in the camera. This is the first Redmi phone and also an under Rs 20,000 phone to come with a total of four cameras in India. The Redmi Note 6 Pro incorporates two cameras in the front and two on back. The Xiaomi phone also comes with a notched display and narrow bezels on the sides. In India, this will be the second Redmi phone to come with a notched display, after the Redmi 6 Pro.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro

Huawei launched the Mate 20 Pro alongside the Mate 20 in October at an event in London. The company is all set to launch the Pro version in India very soon. Last month, Huawei announced the coming of Mate 20 Pro in India, but sadly didn’t reveal the exact launch date of the phone. In the official teaser, Huawei just noted the Mate 20 Pro, so as of now there’s no word if the Mate 20 will also be coming to India. In London, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro was launched with a starting price of EUR 1,049, which roughly translates to Rs 88,400. This price is for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. As of now, there’s no word regarding the India price of the Mate 20 Pro.

Huawei has been silent for quite sometime now. The key highlights of the Mate 20 Pro are: Kirin 980 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM, 40W SuperCharge technology, and 3D facial unlocking technology. The smartphone will likely be available exclusively on Amazon.in when it launches in India.

Nokia 7.1

HMD is on a roll. The Finnish smartphone company is launching one phone after the other in India for the last few months. HMD Global recently launched the Nokia 5.1 Plus and the Nokia 6.1 Plus which was followed by the Nokia 3.1 Plus. Rumours now suggest that HMD will launch the Nokia 7.1 in India this month. The company, however, is yet to reveal the exact India launch details of the Nokia 7.1.

The Nokia 7.1 has already been announced in the European market. As far as the overall design is concerned, the Nokia 7.1 looks and feels similar to the Nokia 6.1 Plus, which is actually great considering the Nokia 6.1 Plus has received positive response for its all glass finish design and sleek look. Some rumours suggest that HMD could price the Nokia 7.1 around Rs 20,000 in India so that it can compete with the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. Both the Nokia and Xiaomi phones are touting their cameras. The Nokia 7.1 comes with Zeiss optics, much like the Nokia 7 Plus. It comes with 12MP + 5MP camera configuration on the back.

Vivo Y95

Vivo mostly promotes its V series phones in India, but this time, the company is changing its strategy. We at the India Today Tech can confirm that Vivo will be launching Y95 in India by the end of November. Like all Y series phones, this one too will come with a under Rs 15,000 price tag. The official price of the phone, however, is yet to be revealed. With the Y95, Vivo will be looking to take on the likes of Redmi Note 6 Pro that too is likely to launch in India this November.

Rumours suggest that Vivo Y95 will come with V11 Pro like Halo notch design or a waterdrop notch. This will make the Y95 the first Vivo phone under Rs 15,000 price segment to come with waterdrop notch. The Y95 will be the successor to the Y83. Rumours hint that in comparison to the Y83, the upcoming Vivo Y95 will see major upgrades in almost every aspect, be it the design, camera setup, the software or the hardware inside.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018)

Samsung launched the Galaxy A9 2018 Edition in Kuala Lumpur last month. The key highlight of the smartphone is its quad rear camera setup or the four cameras on the back. The Galaxy A9 was launched for a starting price of 599 euros, which when translated to INR comes to Rs 51,300. Samsung is yet to announce the India launch details of the phone, but we expect the four camera Samsung phone to hit the Indian stores later this month/. Some rumours making rounds the internet also claim the same, that the Galaxy A9 will be launching in India very soon.

The quad camera system on the back of the Samsung phone includes a 24MP main sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8MP ultra wide angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, a 10MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, the Galaxy A9 sports a 24MP sensor camera.
