Man accused of burglary in Ocasio-Cortez campaign offices

A DC man faces a series of charges after being barricaded in a closet of public utility in a Queens building hosting campaign of Republican Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, announced Sunday. police.

Douala Hashi, 31, is said to have quarreled with security on the ground floor of the Jackson Heights building just before 5pm. Saturday and ran up to the third floor, where he refused to leave, according to police.

When the cops arrived at 74-09 37th Ave., Hashi sprinkled the police with a fire extinguisher, creating a "cloud environment," and found himself in a closet containing a broken bottle, said New York police.

Hashi was taken to Elmhurst Hospital for a psychiatric assessment and charged Sunday with threats, three counts of criminal charges and two counts of intrusion.

It was announced on Saturday that Hashi had broken into AOC offices, but the NYPD said Sunday that the rookie representative's offices were "never raped".

AOC was in Washington when the event unfolded.
