Man and child killed in North Harris County car crash

HOUSTON – A man and a child were killed in a car crash Saturday night in northern Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed on Twitter.

Harris County MPs responded to a major accident involving multiple vehicles at 14700 North Freeway, on the northbound service road near Airtex Drive. Authorities described the victim as a man in his 20s and a child between 8 and 10 years old.

Investigators said two people were injured at the scene and one was temporarily stuck in a vehicle. The injured occupants were taken to hospital under unknown conditions, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The northbound service road and westbound lanes of Airtex Drive are currently closed.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
