Man dies after falling at Dead & Company concert at Citi Field in New York

A 46-year-old man died during a Dead & Company concert on Friday August 20, Variety and deadline report. The concert took place at Citi Field in New York City, where the man fell from a stadium balcony. A spokesperson for the New York Police Department told Deadline the man’s injuries were “consistent with a fall from a high position.”

Variety says first responders were called to Citi Field around 9:05 p.m. Friday night. The man was transported in critical condition from the site to New York Presbyterian Hospital in Queens. He was later pronounced dead in hospital, while Variety reports. Mets Events, which orchestrates programming at Citi Field, issued the following statement to Variety:

We are aware of a tragic incident which unfortunately left one dead last night. Our deepest condolences go out to those close to the participant.
