PHOENIX – Police are investigating the death of a man on a hiking trail near South Mountain on Saturday night.
Phoenix firefighters said their tech rescue team was dispatched to the Corona Trail in South Mountain after receiving reports of an unconscious man around 6 p.m.
Teams say they located the man about 1.5 km from the trailhead. The man was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Details surrounding this incident are unknown at this time.
The Phoenix Police Department will investigate and state that there are no obvious signs of trauma or misdemeanor.
The cause of death will be determined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner.
