A man from the suburbs of Pittsburgh apparently blew up his house – with him inside – during his daughter's wedding, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. The neighbors say they saw the man, who was not identified, outside his house in Edgewood, shortly before the blast Saturday afternoon. The authorities claimed to have found him later among the rubble and apparent suicide notes in his SUV parked in the street, by KDKA. His mobile phone was also found on the windshield of the vehicle, "which is quite strange and it is a problem," said Edgewood Police Chief Robert Payne.

Neighbor Donna Antolovich said she had been rocked by the blast and had gone out to see the house of this man "in flames – still standing – but in flames", while another neighbor said that the house had collapsed 90 seconds after its run to the outside. Police said they have already visited the man for domestic problems related to mental illness. They suspect that he unplugged the gas line from the house and lit a spark to trigger the explosion. "I was devastated," Antolovich told WTAE. "I stayed here all my life, I knew them all their lives, their daughter was getting married today and they were supposed to be at the wedding."
