ATLANTA (AP) – Police said a man had shot and killed a teenager who had accidentally knocked on the wrong door of the apartment in Atlanta.

WSB-TV reports that it happened at 12:30 pm Friday at The Retreat apartments.

Police said that 19-year-old Omarian Banks was dropped near the wrong passage in the complex. They say that Banks and his girlfriend had just moved in and that Banks was not aware of the area. He went to what he thought was his apartment, but it was the wrong door.

Banks knocked but eventually moved away. Police identified the man inside the apartment as Darryl Bynes, 32 years old. They say that he took a gun and went to his balcony to confront Banks and after a short conversation, shot him.

Bynes is accused of murder. The TV channel did not say he had an attorney.
