According to the Coconino County Sheriff's Office, 55-year-old Christopher Swales had bought a parachute package from Paragon Skydive.

During a tandem jump, the OHCC stated that the two "difficulties encountered" approached the landing area. The two men then began to fall freefall and hit the ground near the Grand Canyon Airport.

Paragon Skydive's worker had a broken leg and was hospitalized.
