Manchester United may miss a major target of £ 65 million, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, while Tottenham has made contact with a new (former) right-back – all this in Monday's newspapers.
SOLSKJAER COULD MISS THE IMPORTANT TARGET OF MIDFIELD
Manchester United leaders Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward disagree over a possible move by Bruno Fernandes.
Solskjaer is looking to add a new creative midfielder to his team this summer, following Ander Herrera's departure for PSG and the lingering uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba's future at Old Trafford.
A long list of names has been linked throughout the summer transfer window, but the two on United's shortlist are Newcastle youth Sean Longstaff and the sporty skipper Fernandes.
The 24-year-old has just finished an incredible season in which he scored 32 goals and won the Portuguese Cup for his club. He also helped Portugal to win the first UEFA Nations League final.
The reports suggest that Solskjaer is trying to convince United's executive vice president, Woodward, that Sporting's playmaker is worth more than £ 50 million, with the Portuguese club remaining between £ 65 and £ 65 million.
Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha Solskjaer is struggling to try to convince United 's board of directors that Fernandes would be worth it.
