ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAW) – A La Crosse man who claims that a bet for the first time reported a million dollars was arrested after being evicted from a Rothschild hotel.
The Rothschild police said that a reception clerk at the Best Western Rothschild had called the police around 2:30 am on September 27, 2016, after a drunken man started screaming and wandering around l & # 39; hotel.
According to court documents, the clerk described the man's behavior as "unacceptable" and requested that he be expelled from the building.
The Rothschild police say that this man was James Adducci. Adducci made headlines in the national press this week after betting $ 85,000 on the Tiger Woods Masters win. Woods earned and enriched Adducci by $ 1.2 million.
However, he was not so fortunate in 2016 when his actions landed him overnight at Marathon County Jail.
According to court documents, Rothschild agents transferred a noisy Adducci from the Best Western to the nearby Motel 6. Adducci was told that while he was trying to return to the Best Western, he would be arrested. Police said five minutes after being escorted to his new room, he was seen rushing down Industrial Avenue in Rothschild towards the Best Western. Adducci said that he needed to recover his belongings. The officers said that he could do it in the morning when he was sober or that they would do it on his behalf. Adducci began to swear and scream. He was later arrested. More officers were solicited, Adducci becoming aggressive. A preliminary breath test showed that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.22.
He was convicted of disorderly conduct in April 2017. He was fined $ 267.50.
Adducci has been charged with 11 counts since 2005. All but two cases occurred in La Crosse County. The charges include driving with a prohibited alcohol concentration, disorderly driving and bail jumping.
