A man whose mother died during the September 11 terrorist attacks criticized the representative, Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., At a memorial ceremony held at Ground Zero on the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the tragedy.
Nicholas Haros Jr. sat on a podium in New York on Wednesday and read aloud a list of victims who perished during the 2011 attacks, including his mother, Frances Haros, aged 76 when She died.
While he was addressing a large crowd gathered to remember the lost, Haros Jr. wore a t-shirt bearing the inscription "Some people did something," a phrase criticized by Omar for using it to describe the March bombings during a fundraiser for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Muslim civil rights organization.
"Some people have done something," said a new Congressman from Minnesota, "Haros told the group, referring to Omar's words. "Today, I am here to answer exactly who did what to whom."
"Madam, objectively, we know who and what has been done, there is no uncertainty about it," he said. "Why your confusion?" That day, 19 Al-Qaida terrorists killed more than 3,000 people and caused billions of dollars in economic damage.
"But as for whom," he continued, "I was attacked, your relatives and friends were attacked, our constitutional freedoms were attacked, and our nation, based on Judeo-Christian principles, was attacked. been attacked ".

Omar's comments made their appearance in April, after President Trump tweeted a video of the Muslim congressman speaking at the CAIR meeting, assembled with images from 9/11.
"The CAIR was founded after September 11, because they recognized that some people had done something," they say in the video, between the scenes of the collapse of the Twin Towers.
"We will never forget," said the president video, which has since been seen more than 11 million times.
Some viewers later accused Omar of minimizing the tragedy, while others claimed that his remarks had been cut off from their context and taken out of context to be used against it.
