Manchester United won for the first time since opening weekend of the season after a 1-0 win against Leicester.

Marcus Rashford gave United the advantage eight minutes from the penalty spot for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men, but it was a tough afternoon against a bustling Leicester. Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw were missing at Solskjaer, but his eleven fortunes managed to win a major victory.

United needed a quick start after a disappointing draw in Southampton and Andreas Pereira made the point, forcing Kasper Schmeichel to make a great save on a free kick.

In a lively opening, James Maddison then went near the visitors but David De Gea denied him with his legs.

The match only had eight minutes when Caglar Soyuncu knocked Rashford into the box and, following a VAR check, the penalty was inflicted.

Rashford, who had missed the 2-1 loss to United at home against Crystal Palace, made no mistake in giving the advantage to his team.

Daniel James and Juan Mata exchanged shots on goal after the restart, United helping to score a second before Maddison got close on the other end with a soft free kick.

Harry Maguire, harassed by Leicester fans from the beginning against his former club, was looking to add a second, but Schmeichel equalized his head in a corner and he also had to be vigilant in defense as visitors pressed in the second half.

United started off brilliantly but quickly gave way to Leicester, the best of both teams after their quick setback.

Rashford thundered a free kick against the corner of the post and bar eight minutes from time, before Wilfred Ndidi was close to equalizing in overtime, but his recovery was flying away.
