Mandy Moore’s baby name has a very sweet meaning

Mandy Moore and Taylor Goldsmith just welcomed their first child, August Harrison Goldsmith, and when they thought of baby names they weren’t just looking at an inspiration list.

They put a lot of thought and attention into baby Gus name, as Mandy shared on Instagram, where she explained the meaning.

And it’s so cute: “It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we had a boy (it’s also Taylor’s birth month) and we’ve always loved the name,” said Mandy. “So that was fixed very early in our book.”

But the first and last letters of the August name also have special meaning for musical artists. “For our anniversary in November, T gave me this blanket with the ‘A’ (for Amanda) made from extra fabric from my wedding dress and ‘T’ (for Taylor) from her wedding shirt,” a she explained.

“[It] felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole history, ”Mandy wrote, adding,“ I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day. 💙💙💙💙 “

Just yesterday, Mandy announced the arrival of August with a very cute first look at him. “He was on time and arrived right on his due date, much to his parents’ delight,” she wrote on Instagram. “We were ready to fall in love in all kinds of new ways, but it was beyond anything we could have imagined.”
