The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has acquired forward Jared McCann from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for forward Filip Hållander and a seventh-round draft pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.
McCann, 25, had 32 points (14 goals, 18 assists) in 43 regular season games and added an assist in six playoff games with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season. In 353 career regular-season games with Pittsburgh, Fla. And Vancouver, the Stratford, Ont. Native amassed 155 points (66 goals, 89 assists).
McCann was initially selected in the first round (24e overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft.
