Marc Colombo, coach of the offensive line, dismisses surprisingly

Just as the Giants’ offensive line started to improve, Marc Colombo was sacked.

The Giants replace Colombo with Dave DuGuglielmo, as first reported by NFL Network and confirmed by The Post. Giants coach Joe Judge interviewed DuGuglielmo and Colombo during the offseason and went with Colombo – who came in with offensive coordinator Jason Garrett of the Dallas Cowboys – for his first staff.

Rookie left tackle Andrew Thomas got off to a miserable start but started to improve. The Giants play seven offensive linemen – three guards and three crosses – in a rotation.

DuGuglielmo was an assistant coach with the Giants’ offensive line from 2004-2008 and rebounded in the NFL, including a stoppage with the Jets in 2012 and most recently with the Dolphins last season.
