PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) – March Madness settles on Villanova campuses and temple universities.

Both teams will play games this week as the NCAA tournament begins.

The Owls are in Ohio for Tuesday night's game against Belmont. The tip is at 21:10

The winner faces Maryland in Jacksonville on Thursday.

Temple and Belmont have never clashed in the history of the program.

This is the last season of Temple head coach Fran Dunphy, and the players clearly want to win.

Dunphy told them to change their mentality, reporting to Action News: "You have to play for yourself, your family, your university, and most importantly for yourself – take care of each other. like your basketball brothers and everything will be fine. "

Meanwhile, Jay Wright and the Villanova Wildcats will leave Tuesday night for Hartford.

The defending NCAA champions have a tough opening match at St Mary's Thursday, a team that can get on and off the court with the best of them.

The Wildcats have won two of the last three tournaments, but goalkeeper Phil Booth knows it does not guarantee anything.

"There's no perfect way to go to this central game – it does not work that way," he said. "People do not realize that it's a lot of luck, lots of balls in your way, lots of twists, you can not just say you're going to win and things will be so easy."

The Nova Nation is off to a big start on campus Tuesday night at 5:15 pm
