Margot Robbie warns of Harley Quinn’s fate in ‘The Suicide Squad’ (spoilers)

Warning: The suicide squad spoilers above and forwards

In October, James Gunn thrilled fans with suspense, gore and pure anarchy when he was boasting that Warner Bros. had given him “carte blanche” to kill any character he wanted in The suicide squad, his R-rated superhero actor and his entry into the DCEU.

With a cast so large that they put 20 names on a poster to feature them, that potentially spelled LOTS of deaths – and Gunn fully delivers on that promise in the film.

That doesn’t mean he didn’t work on who lived and who died.

“I’ve changed my mind,” he told Yahoo Entertainment on a virtual press day for the film (see above). “There were people in my treatment who died and ended up not dying. There are people who are not dead, who end up dying. While I was preparing the script, I knew that a lot of the people I was taking were going to die very early. And then other people, the story kind of takes on its own form and I’m really in the flow of the story and making sure that every moment is as over the top as the movie, and has as much truthfulness and truth. emotion and sincerity possible.

This should make for an interesting experience for the actors involved, knowing that there is a chance that they do not live to see another page while reading the script. More of them, however, did not mind.

“I was not afraid to die or not, because it is such an honor to enter this truly gigantic industry in The suicide squad with James Gunn, ”Daniela Melchior, who is making her English debut as Ratcatcher II, told Yahoo Entertainment.

“If I just make one Suicide Squad movie, and my character lives or dies, it’s a big hit, ”says Idris Elba, who plays Bloodsport. “Because it works with James Gunn. “

“I think when you get an offer to work with James Gunn, you really don’t care how long it’s going to be,” adds Mayling Ng, who introduces Mongal.

(Once again, beware of spoilers …)

And then there’s Margot Robbie, who plays Harley Quinn – the DCEU fan favorite who is by far the most untouchable member of the Suicide Squad, right? (Gunn recently told Uproxx’s Mike Ryan that he “a thousand percent” could have killed Quinn, although he hinted otherwise at the end of our interview, mentioning that there was an anonymous member who ‘he couldn’t kill – and that doesn’t include John Cena’s peacemaker, who got his own HBO Max spin-off.)

Robbie, however, would not have been happy.

“The minute I started reading the script I was like, ‘Damn, nobody’s safe,’” Robbie told us. “And if this fucking mother kills me, I’ll find him and kill him, and I’ll rewrite the script myself.

“Luckily I’m not dead so I can continue playing Harley Quinn. She is near death. But she doesn’t die.

The suicide squad play now.
