The Bengals added defensive tackle Margus Hunt to the COVID-19 reserve list on Monday. He becomes the fifth player the Bengals have on the roster.

Right tackle Fred Johnson, linebacker Jordan Evans and cornerbacks Trae Waynes and Mackensie Alexander have also been placed on the roster since Friday.

Johnson and Waynes have reportedly tested positive. It is not known whether the others were considered close contacts or tested positive themselves.

Johnson replaced Bobby Hart (knee) in the team’s win in Week 8, with left tackle Jonah Williams (stinger) also missing that game.

In response to positive COVID-19 tests, the Bengals took off on Monday after their week off. They will take a virtual tour on Tuesday.

“We are happy with the way we handled the whole process, and our communication with the league has been excellent,” Taylor said Monday, via Geoff Hobson of the team’s website. “We just move forward every day. We know the next eight weeks will be a challenge for the whole league. We just have to be prepared to be flexible. “

The Bengals face the Steelers on Sunday. Pittsburgh placed tight end Vance McDonald on the COVID-19 reserve list on Monday after playing 20 shots against the Cowboys.
