Mariah Carey has long been called the “ Christmas Queen ” thanks to her successful 1994 festive anthem, All I Want For Christmas Is You.
And living up to the label, the American singer-songwriter detailed how her love for the special holidays runs during an appearance at Sunrise on Thursday.
But while talking to entertainment reporter Edwina Bartholomew, Mariah struggled to maintain eye contact with the camera.
Mariah Carey appeared on Seven’s Sunrise Thursday, where she eerily admitted to stocking up on Christmas decorations during the panic buying of COVID-19 in New York City in March
Her eyes wandered to her left as she sat in front of a Christmas setting for the pre-recorded conversation.
During the segment, Mariah discussed the supply of Christmas decorations when the panic buying of COVID-19 began.
“ I was in the New York apartment for the first four to five months of Covid with the kids and our little group, ” she explained.
“Suddenly I sat there and said ‘wait a minute – I better get Christmas decorations because what if people get all the decorations?’ was thinking about it in March.
“I sat there and I said ‘wait a minute – I better get some Christmas decorations because what if people got all the decorations?” ”Mariah said in March, when panic shopping started in New York, she worried about the lack of Christmas decorations
Mariah said she typically treats her nine-year-old twins, Moroccans and Monroe, at Christmas parties, Santa’s reunions and sledding every year, but the coronavirus pandemic has thrown a wrench in the work for the family .
“I don’t need to go anywhere, safety is more important,” she said, trying to socialize amid the pandemic.

The blonde diva was on the breakfast show promoting her new Apple TV + special – Magical Christmas special from Mariah Carey.
She said her new Christmas special was “so much fun to do” and “such a labor of love”.
The special includes performances and appearances by Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson and Snoop Dogg.
