“Instead of continuing to spend resources on these cases, this office will immediately begin to implement the will of the voters,” the Maricopa County District Attorney’s Office said in a written statement on Monday.
Proposal 207 was adopted last week with 60% of the vote.
In addition to decriminalizing most recreational uses, it sets aside previous marijuana convictions.
Voters in four states approved the legalization of recreational marijuana in last week’s election, bringing the number of states that have approved it to 15.
