JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) – The maritime pilots of Southeast Alaska are worried about the maneuverability of one of the four megaship cruise lines that are expected from the season.

CoastAlaska reports that the Norwegian Bliss and its sister ship are expected to visit this state, as well as Royal Caribbean International's Ovation of the Seas and Princess Princess's flagship Royal Princess.

The Southeast Alaska Pilots Association has tested the limits of each of the four megaships in virtual reality.

The pilots say that "the global simulations performed for the Royal Princess have created serious problems in wind and currents common to southeastern Alaska.

Princess Cruises questioned the report's findings, but said it would work closely with marine pilots to ensure the safety of ships in southeastern Alaska.

The Royal Princess is scheduled to make its first visit to southeast Alaska on May 13th.
