I am … rather interested now
I usually write Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games securities. It is not that I do not try them: I do it! But the vast majority are just distractions to try to participate in this very lucrative budget for the Olympics. This time around, although Sega is reducing things a bit with just one version of Switch and, surprisingly, a considerable concentration on retro games.
Although Mario and Sonic have already met at Super Smash Bros. (and the billions of dollars mentioned above Olympic Games mashups), there is something joyful to see their retro incarnations together. "For the first time in the history of the series", Sega includes "classic 2D events" in the mix with the typical 3D pattern. There are even little henchmen (Goombas, Shy Guys, Sonic Critters) in the stands!
This iteration will feature "10 different 2D events", including 100m, 10m, flat swim, 400m hurdles, gymnastic jump, judo (haha), single kayak over 1000m, long jump, marathon, shooting (trap ) and volleyball. Look at the screens in the gallery below, they are great! I do not know how attractive these micro-events will be to justify the asking price of $ 60, but I'm digging the effort.
Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games will be launched on November 5th exclusively on Switch. There is also a version of the upcoming arcade cabinet in 2020.
