Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene presented a new list of impeachment articles against President Joe Biden on Friday.
The three resolutions imposed by the Georgian MP are a “dereliction of duty” for Biden’s handling of the situation in Afghanistan, another for the “border crisis” and a third for “the usurpation of the authority of Congress and l ‘ignorance of the judicial authority of the Supreme Court’ for the Moratorium on evictions of the Biden administration during the coronavirus pandemic.
“In just seven short months, Joe Biden has caused America to lose the respect of the whole world. The evidence is clear and his actions are so egregious that he must be removed from office,” Greene said in a statement.
Republicans are in the minority in Congress, so any effort to impeach Biden faces long chances. A series of impeachment articles tabled by Greene on January 21, a day after Biden’s inauguration, came to nothing. These focused on alleged “corrupt actions” related to Biden’s diplomacy with Ukraine as vice president and the foreign trade relations of his son Hunter Biden.

Still, calls are mounting for Biden to be impeached, including by Conservative commentator Mark Levin, who also pioneered the use of the 25th Amendment, Dan Bongino and Jenna Ellis, former President Donald Trump’s senior legal advisor for the 2020 campaign.
Parliamentary Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who could become president in 2023 if Republicans get control of the lower house in next year’s midterm election, told Fox News this week it was open at the idea.
“If Biden takes an illegal step, we will propose impeachment,” said the Republican of California. “But we are not going to propose impeachment for political purposes.”
Trump has been indicted twice by a Democratic-controlled House, once in connection with Ukraine and another over the Jan.6 Capitol riot, but acquitted both times by a Senate led by the GOP. In his press release Friday, Greene acknowledged a general lack of appetite to initiate more controversial impeachment proceedings, but argued that “the safety and security of the country and the American people” are at stake.
