New Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and another new member of the Republican House were embroiled in a dispute over coronavirus masks as the 117th Congress first met on Sunday, reporter Jake Sherman reported.
Greene and the unidentified Republican appeared to tell upstairs staff they would not put on masks, Sherman reported.

Republican and Democratic prosecution staff found themselves in a “screaming match,” Sherman said.
Greene was quick to respond to the report.
“Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi has changed the rules of COVID because she is desperate to hang on to the hammer. No one can attack me about the masks, when Pelosi sends Democrats to the ground with positive COVID tests to vote for her for the presidency, “Greene wrote on Twitter in an apparent reference to Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Wisconsin. authorized to vote on the floor after announcing on December 28 that she had tested positive for the coronavirus.
“Well, I actually have a mask,” Greene continued, posting a photo of herself wearing a mask with the tagline “Trump Won” on it.
The House will vote Monday on a new “rule package” to start the new Congress that will include a remote voting option. But in the House, you cannot defer the rules of the 116th to the 117th Congress.

Under normal circumstances, the 435 elected members of the House flocked to the chamber to vote electronically and register their presence. But during the coronavirus, the House will summon members to the chambers in seven groups of about 72 people. The first installment begins with Representative Alma Adams, DN.C., and goes through Representative Michael Cloud, R-Texas. The seventh and final group ranges from Representative Joe Wilson, RS.C., to Representative Lee Zeldin, RN.Y.
